Cookies help us give you a better experience â and you're always in control.
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies VitalPulse uses, why, and how you can manage or remove them at any time. Use the interactive consent manager in Section 6 to set your preferences with one click.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They're widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how their site is being used.
Cookies contain a small amount of information â typically a unique identifier and the name of the site that set it. They are not programs and cannot install software on your device.
Types of Cookie by Duration
| Type | Duration | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookies | Deleted when you close your browser | Maintain your state while you navigate the site |
| Persistent cookies | Remain for a set period | Remember your preferences across visits |
Types of Cookie by Origin
| Type | Who sets it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| First-party cookies | Set directly by VitalPulse | Our session cookie, saved preferences |
| Third-party cookies | Set by services we embed (if/when active) | Google Analytics, Google AdSense |
Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four purposes. Essential cookies are necessary for the Service to function and are always active. Other categories are optional and ask for your consent.

| Functional preferences â remembering your settings | Yes â in the consent manager below |
| Analytics & performance â understanding site usage, if/when active | Yes â in the consent manager below |
| Advertising â enabling ads once approved and active (e.g. Google AdSense) | Yes â in the consent manager below |

Browser Controls
You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings â refusing all cookies, accepting only certain ones, or getting notified when a cookie is set.
For detailed instructions, visit allaboutcookies.org.
Local Storage & Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, VitalPulse uses browser local storage to store data directly on your device. Unlike cookies, this data isn't sent to our servers with each request.
| Key | What it stores | Why |
|---|---|---|
| vp_cookie_prefs | Your cookie consent choices | Remembers preferences without a server round-trip |
| vp_mood_history | Mood tracker entries | Kept locally for privacy â never sent to our servers |
| vp_weight_log | Weight tracker entries | Kept locally for privacy â never sent to our servers |
Clearing Local Storage
You can clear local storage through your browser's site data settings. Doing so will permanently delete any journal, mood, or tracker data saved in VitalPulse's interactive tools â this data isn't recoverable from our servers, since we never had a copy.
Do Not Track
Our current position on Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there's no universally accepted standard for how sites should respond to it, VitalPulse doesn't currently alter its practices based on DNT signals. We'll revisit this if an industry standard emerges. In the meantime, please use the consent manager in Section 6.
International Transfers
Cookies set by third-party providers â particularly Google, if/when active â may result in data being processed outside Pakistan, including in the United States. Where this occurs, providers typically rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
See our Privacy Policy â Section 12 for more on international data transfers.
Children
VitalPulse is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly use cookies to collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has used the Service and cookies have been set, contact us at privacy@myvitalpulse.org and we'll take appropriate steps.
Changes to This Policy
We'll review and update this Cookie Policy as the cookies we use change â for example, once analytics or advertising tools go live. When we make changes, we update the "Last updated" date and version number above, and note significant changes here.
